What is HTML Attribute
  • An HTML attribute is an associated property of an HTML element and used to extend the capability of an HTML element.
  • HTML attributes (usually) have values and are written after a "=" after the name of the attribute.
  • Attribute value pair is placed before the last ">" of an HTML start tag.
How to use HTML Attribute
An attribute is used to specify the characteristics of an HTML element and is placed inside the element's opening tag.

<a href="http://www.projectcode.co.in"> This is a link</a>

How to implement HTML Attribute
Example :
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>

<a href="http://www.projectcode.co.in">This is a link</a>

</body>
</html>


Output : This is a link
Important Note
Attribute names and attribute values are case-insensitive in HTML.
However, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) organisation recommends lowercase attributes/attribute values in their HTML recommendation.
Upgrade versions of (X)HTML will offer lowercase attributes.
